London: 1883. Single sheet, 12 1/4 x 8 1/4 ins, wove paper watermarked partial MILL . Image 4 x 6 ins., plate 5 1/4 x 7 3/8 ins. deep rich impression in black ink. § Etching second state of four, with the lettering below the print to illustrate The Eclogues of Virgil 1883 . It was begun by Palmer in 1880 and finished by his son. Lister E16. After some thought Palmer decided that he should go back to his favorite medium of etching for the illustrations.
