A scarce 1910 second edition of Outlines of Hindu Metaphysics by Manmatha Nath Shastri (Manmatha Nath Dutt, 1855–1912), published in Calcutta by the Society for the Resuscitation of Indian Literature. Dutt was one of the most prolific translators of Hindu sacred texts from Sanskrit to English, and a Member of the Royal Asiatic Society. This work was among his final publications — he passed away just two years after this edition appeared. The volume features a distinctive marbled board cover in black and cream with a black cloth spine. No dust jacket — as issued. Previous owner's name in red pen on the title page, minor printing offset on a few pages, two small tears to the left edge of the title page — otherwise holding together well for a 115-year-old book. 247 pages.
