A view of Jerusalem from the Mount of Olives. The photograph shows the area of the Garden of Gethsemane. On the right hand side of the picture the Russian Orthodox Church of Maria Magdalene, famed for its gold, onion shaped domes, is clearly visible. This photograph was included in the album Palestine and Egypt, issued in March 1894. Albumen print. 217 x 280 mm. Good tonal range and in good condition, pasted on original card, photographer's credit, title and number in negative.
