Two menus for meals aboard HMS Malabar.

Two charming relics of shipboard life, executed for the same (or very similar) meal, perhaps for a visiting French dignitary. Indeed, on the verso of the French menu is an ms. note referring “du general Ghorgi.” In 1837, Admiral Montague commanded HMS Malabar , which was at that time stationed between Portugal and Spain.
