These are very attractive depictions of the military in Jamaica where Rudyard, a Lieutenant Colonel in the Artillery, was posted in 1839. His is an accomplished amateur hand. Hansard 1842 “He thought it right to state to the House, on the authority of Colonel Rudyard, from whom the hon. Member quoted a report, dated November 14, 1842, ….”
