LETTERS ON MISSIONS; ADDRESSED TO THE PROTESTANT MINISTERS OF THE BRITISH CHURCHES. First American edition, first published in Bristol, England in 1794, of this work on the English missionary efforts in foreign parts. Horne had been a chaplain in Sierra Leone, but was unable to establish a mission there because of sickness. This work relates largely to the customs, etc., of the African natives and to the importance of missionary work in general. This is an early Schenectady imprint, by the first printer there, and the final two pages list books offered for sale by Wyckoff, as well as a solicitation for printing and binding work.
