NOUVEAU VOYAGE DANS L'AMÉRIQUE SEPTENTRIONALE, EN L'ANNÉE 1781; ET CAMPAGNE DE L'ARMÉE DE M. LE COMTE DE ROCHAMBEAU. A series of thirteen letters supplying an early account of the people and customs of the United States. The Abbé Robin was a chaplain in the army of Count Rochambeau. His descriptions of the city of Boston, Gen. Washington, and the final days of the Revolutionary War are particularly good. The Abbé's work is bound with an interesting study by a well-known German chemist (here translated into French) on the properties of precious stones.
