GESCHICHTE DER REVOLUTION VON NORD-AMERICA. The second edition of Sprengel's history of the American Revolution, first published under a differing title in 1783. This edition has a larger map, but omits the plates found in that edition. The book was avidly read by the Rhinelanders as Hessian mercenaries returned from the War. Sprengel includes a list of his sources, which comprises a good contemporary bibliography, primarily of English books, on the War.
