[NURSERY SPECIMEN BOOK]. A specimen book of fruits and flowers compiled for the Chase Brothers Nursery Company of Rochester, consisting of handsome chromolithograph plates printed primarily by the Mensing & Stecher Co. and its successor, Stecher Lithography Company. Rochester was a hot spot for nurseries in the late 19th century. There is no titlepage, but the cover is stamped in gilt: "Chase Brothers Company, New England Nurseries, Rochester, N.Y. No. 2511." The specimen book displays a variety of apples, grapes, berries, roses, shrubs, and trees on offer by the firm.
