REMARKS ON LOCAL SCENERY & MANNERS IN SCOTLAND DURING THE YEARS 1799 AND 1800. Illustrated work on Scotland, celebrating its magnificent scenery in a series of aquatints. Stoddart was a writer and lawyer who served as lead writer and editor for THE TIMES from 1812 to 1816, at which time he founded a rival daily paper called THE NEW TIMES, which ran until 1828. He authored the present work as well as several legal treatises.
