KUSHIEL'S DART was the first novel by Jacqueline Carey and won the Locus Award for best first novel. Phèdre nó Delaunay is a courtesan; Joscelin Verreuil is Phèdre's protector. He is sworn to celibacy but betrays his oath when he falls in love with her. With a wholly realized fantasy world that resembles Earth and France in particular (Terre d'Ange), compelling and well-rounded characters, and a generous spicing with sex, S&M, and a "love as thou wilt" theme, the novel was hugely popular and prompted three trilogies plus a tenth book that parallels and retells the first one from an alternate viewpoint. The first trilogy comprises KUSHIEL'S DART, KUSHIEL'S CHOSEN, and KUSHIEL'S AVATAR. Offered here is the deluxe signed, limited edition, slipcased set of KUSHIEL'S DART, KUSHIEL'S CHOSEN, and KUSHIEL'S AVATAR, published by Subterranean Press. These editions were very popular and sold out prior to publication. This is a matching set with each #217 out of 250 copies. All books are signed on the limitation page by the author. Each features gorgeous wraparound cover art by artist Tran Nguyen and is housed in a deluxe slipcase. The dust jackets are unclipped and protected by loose mylar jackets; the slipcases are like new as well. The books appear new and are unread; I read the original first editions and not these later deluxe editions. I see no other matching number sets of this trilogy offered online anywhere.
