Itimad-ud-Dawlah, a title meaning 'pilar of the government', was a Persain adventurer named Mirza Ghiyas Beg. After he joined Akbar's court, he became the most powerfull official under Jahangir. He died in 1622 and the work on his tomb finished in 1628. His mausoleum predates the Taj Mahal in its exclusive use of white marble and is considered to be one of the most perfect Mughal tombs. Small waxed paper negative. Fair contrasts and in good condition, slight fading along top margin; Dimensions: 270 x 350mm. (10.5 x 13.75 inches).
