BIOGRAPHIA ULTRAJECTINA, OF GULDE LEGENDE VAN DE STICHTSCHE SINTER-KLAAS.... Apparently a criticism of the Dutch politician Willem Nicolaas de Pesters, a member of the Provincial Executive for Utrecht, at the time of the American Revolution. The title puts it forth as a study of the legend of "Sinter Klaas," a Dutch Santa-like figure. Pesters had earned the nickname "Stichtesche Sinter-Klaas" [i.e. "The Santa Claus of Utrecht"] for his overgenerous distribution of political patronage and favors. Signed in print at the end of the text by "Jan Meerweet," possibly a pseudonym. Exceedingly scarce outside of the Netherlands - OCLC records copies only at Cornell, the University of Michigan, Harvard, Indiana University, and NYPL.
