LEYES DEL ESTADO DE CALIFORNIA, DECRETADAS DURANTE LA DECIMA QUINTA SESION DE LA LEGISLATURA, 1863-4.... Laws and statutes of the state of California for 1863-1864, printed in Spanish. The laws were printed by the official state printer in Sacramento, and translated into Spanish by the official state translator, Señora N. Florida Brown. Also included are the texts of the Declaration of Independence, United States Constitution, and California Constitution. The printing of California statutes in Spanish began in 1854, and shows the efforts the young state took to include Spanish-speaking citizens in its civic life.
