ANNALS AND RECOLLECTIONS OF ONEIDA COUNTY. First edition, which includes a ten-page summary of the history of the land claims of Mrs. Martha Bradstreet, corrected in pencil in her own hand. Martha Bradstreet came to New York from Britain in 1799, and spent the rest of her life attempting to assert her title in Utica against conflicting claims. Her litigation formed an important part of the land history of early Utica, and involved many of the city's first families throughout the first half of the century. An exhaustive and authoritative account of the history and condition of Oneida County, New York at the middle of the 19th century, with interesting provenance.
