Battersea Rise. First edition, first printing, inscribed by the author on the front free endpaper, "Christmas Card with Morgan's love 1955". This title was printed for the friends of the author and his publishers as a New Year's greeting. It comprises the first chapter of Forster's biography of his aunt, Marianne Thornton: A Domestic Biography, published the following year.
