Very good, ink ownership inscription to the front pastedown, with a library number, head of the spine just nicked, endpapers lightly foxed, otherwise a very good copy indeed. An exemplary early collection of Pound’s Poetry, Canzoni , in its sheer breadth of style and homage, lays out many of the poetic co-ordinates - particularly the Provencal poets and Roman satirists - that Pound would go on to chart throughout The Cantos . Dedicated to Olivia and Dorothy Shakespear, this book was published in the same year that Pound’s proposal to the latter on the grounds of insufficient funds; the two would go on to marry in 1914.
