RIVERS' ACCOUNT OF THE RAISING OF TROOPS IN SOUTH CAROLINA FOR STATE AND CONFEDERATE SERVICE 1861 - 1865. PUBLISHED FOR REVISION AND AMENDMENT. "A summary of manpower contributions; by the South Carolina Professor who began the roster of troops later continued by A. S. Salley" - Nevins. Rivers' work includes sections on Confederate State Service, Volunteer Service, and provides unit rosters for numerous regiments. The interleaved format was used "so that it may be sent for revision and amendment to such Confederate survivors as may be be willing and able to supply the missing links." Includes a blank printed form issued by the State Historian of Confederate Records, asking the public to return the pamphlet once annotations have been made. An interesting piece of ephemera recording the concerted effort to preserve and maintain historically accurate Confederate records.
