This copy lacks the general map in the first volume, but has the map of Charleston in the second volume. The better part of the book is devoted to the southern campaigns of the Revolution and to biographies of prominent early Carolinians. The Streeter sale catalogue notes that the second volume "as a survey of life in contemporary South Carolina is of great value."
