A brief spiritual biography of Lady Elizabeth Hastings (1682-1739), who generously donated funds to religious institutions in Great Britain during her lifetime. Upon her death, funds were distributed to various charities and numerous scholarships were established at Oxford. Well-known in her lifetime, the text notes that "a very amiable account is given of the extraordinary charity, piety, &c. of this lady, by Sir Richard Steel in the TATLER, No. 52, under the character of Aspasia." A scarce late 18th-century Philadelphia pamphlet, NAIP notes three copies.
