Our Maoris.
£125 · Offered by Maggs Bros Ltd
With the bookplate of the distinguished collector James Edge Partington. A very good copy. Lady Martin was the wife of New Zealand’s first Chief Justice. She spent thirty years in New Zealand (1842-77) and was well-place to make observations on the Maori adjusting to colonial rule. The text is a lightly edited version of her diaries.
