DETAIL AND ORNAMENT OF THE ITALIAN RENAISSANCE. First American edition. Originally published in London in 1888. The fine plates illustrate church monuments, tombs, details of brackets and cornices, a high altar in marble, an organ gallery for the Duomo in Florence, bronzes, an entrance doorway, the Loggia del Consiglio in Padua, terra cotta work, bronze pedestals, wrought iron work, inlaid marble ornament, intarsia woodwork, etc. The American edition is very rare, although the British edition is relatively common.
