“The early standard history of Corfu” (Navari). Much of the work is dedicated to Venice, which annexed the Ionian islands in 1386 and retained them until 1797 when the Venetian Republic was dissolved under pressure from Napoleon. There is also an account of the Turkish invasion of 1536. In addition to the historical content, this interesting work includes a list of all the prominent families living in Corfu at the time. There are double-page maps or Kerassopoli and Corfu as well as a representation of the fortress of Corfu Blackmer, 1082; Atabey, 774; Legrand Pernot, 203.
