TO THE PEOPLE OF GEORGIA [caption title]. Chappell, a prominent politician and one-term member of the U.S. House from Georgia, defends his loyalty to the Whig Party. The first title, an open letter to the people of Georgia, explains Chappell's views on the tariff issue. In the second letter Chappell responds to questions on a series of issues, including the election of Henry Clay as president, a one-term limit for the office of president, the restriction of the veto power, land sales, the tariff, and a national bank. OCLC locates five copies of the first title and none of the second. Scarce.
