Little, a captain in the U.S. Navy, requested compensation for his role in capturing a French brig carrying coffee off the island of Hispaniola in 1799. Little's action was one of a number of naval encounters between American and French vessels in the Caribbean during the "Quasi-War" with France during John Adams' administration. The Committee concluded that his claim was reasonable and ought to be granted. OCLC and Shaw & Shoemaker together locate only six copies. Scarce.
