Pierre Nicolas Lenglet du Fresnoy (1674-1755) was a French diplomat, geographer and author who wrote a series of geographical texts for use in schools. This English edition was translated by Philip Morant for the Knaptons. The book contains a set of maps of the world as known to the ancients, copied from Christoph Cellarius and engraved by Richard William Seale and William Henry Toms.
