TO THE ELECTORS OF THE THIRD DISTRICT.... An 1840 campaign broadside on behalf of Amos Abbot, distinguished Massachusetts public servant and founder of the Boston & Portland Railroad. His campaign was successful, and he returned for three consecutive terms. He retired from Congress in 1849 and died in 1868.
