Painted headstock, bookmark. In good condition. A magnificent illustrated edition, designed by A.I. Evmenov and S.B. Telingater. The illustrations were executed using intaglio and letterpress printing techniques. The binding fabric is silkscreened and imitates the curtain of the Soviet-era Bolshoi Theatre. This book is one of the most beautiful and luxurious editions dedicated to the history of the Bolshoi Theatre. It was published to mark its double anniversary. 1956 marked 200 years since the establishment of professional theatre in Russia, as well as 100 years since the Bolshoi Theatre acquired its new building.
