Dedicated to “Monsieur, Frère du Roi”, Saint-Cyr explains that his work is “Un Ouvrage dont l’objet est l’instruction de la jeune Noblesse Militaire”. An analysis of the Military Art of the Ancients based on the principle that “Les Anciens sont nos Maîtres, ce sont eux qui nous ont donné les premières leçons d’un Art que nous avons perfectionné”. A highly attractive copy of an unusual and interesting work.
