De verbis anomalis libri II. Venice, [Comin da Trino],
£575 · Offered by Maggs Bros Ltd
First Italian edition of the scholar and printer Guillaume Morel’s work on Greek irregular verbs, first printed in Paris two years before. Guillaume Morel (1505-64) began as a reader in Jean Loy’s printshop in 1544 and eventually became royal printer, succeeding Turnèbe. This edition appears to be rare with only copies at the University of Illinois and Cornell listed in NUC/OCLC/RLIN. Later monastic inscription on title, circular ownership stamp. Printed ownership label removed from foot of title causing some wear. Inner blank margin of a few leaves wormed affecting one catchword. BMSTC (Italian), p. 719. Not in Adams.
