Detailed chart of Curacao, engraved by Daniel Veelward jr., with three coastal profiles and a large inset of the main harbour, which takes up a quarter of the sheet. The chart is extensively annotated by a contemporary English hand (or hands), apparently official, commenting on the inaccuracy of the chart compared with the British Admiralty equivalent, notably the difference in longitudes highlighted in three comparative tables; one panel of English text notes “… the actual position of the cables … plotted in this chart are often contradictory … I daresay I might get the approximation closer but I have not the time to devote to it [initialled, dated] 23.5.88.”
