Discusses improvements, particularly the removal of obstructions, in the Ohio and Mississippi rivers to make them more navigable, with many statistics concerning the value of products transported on those rivers. James Hall was the chairman of the Committee of the Citizens of Cininnati of 1844, and had much to do with drafting this plea.
