The Late Child. First edition, first printing. Presentation copy inscribed by the author to actress Cybill Shepherd on the front blank, "For Cybill, with love, L". Shepherd starred in the 1971 film adaptation of McMurtry's The Last Picture Show, and the two collaborated on a screenplay based on the Shelby Foote novel September, September, which was never produced.
