A report of the Naval Committee to the House concerning the establishment of a line of steamers for the purpose of colonizing the western coast of Africa with free Blacks from the United States. Includes supportive letters and testimony from American statesmen such as Henry Clay. The proposed steam line would also carry mail, extend American commerce, and help suppress the African slave trade.
