ARATOR; BEING A SERIES OF AGRICULTURAL ESSAYS, PRACTICAL AND POLITICAL: IN SIXTY-ONE NUMBERS. Styled "third edition, revised and enlarged" on the titlepage (after the first edition of 1814). A strongly political and ideological work by the greatest of the agrarian states' rights theorists. Some of the text is devoted to the slavery issue, and political and constitutional philosophy, and the balance offers practical agricultural advice. This edition is the first to contain Taylor's essays on "Cotton," "Hay & Fodder," and "The Present and Political State of Agriculture." This edition also contains Taylor's final revisions to his important "Essays on Agrarian Philosophy."
