Although no authorship is attributed, this is, in fact, a translation of William McCarthy's history of the war published in English in Philadelphia in 1816. Like the original McCarthy narrative, this edition has a frontispiece of Zebulon Pike, copied from that which is included in Pike's EXPEDITIONS.... Also present are six plates of military and naval incidents of the war, including the folding plate of the Battle of New Orleans not found in all copies.
