THE GEOGRAPHICAL DISTRIBUTION OF THE VOTE OF THE THIRTEEN STATES ON THE FEDERAL CONSTITUTION, 1787-8. An important work on the history of the ratification of the Federal Constitution. This copy is a presentation from the editor of the History series of the Bulletin of the University of Wisconsin, Frederick Jackson Turner, inscribed on the wrappers, "With the respect of Frederick J. Turner." This work was volume 1, number 1 in the series, with a preface by Turner. There he states, "The following paper is one of a series of studies carried on in my seminary in American history, with the design of contributing to the understanding of the relations between the political history of the United States, and the physiographic, social and economic conditions underlying this history. A preliminary paper by the editor, indicating some aspects of the proposed work, has already been published under the title 'The Significance of the Frontier in American History.'" A nice association with Turner's famous work.
