The recipient, George Henry Sargent (1867-1931), published a bibliography of Newton in 1927 and, between 1903 and 1931, wrote a weekly column on book collecting for the Boston Evening Transcript. His bookplate is on the front pastedown.In This Book-Collecting Game, Newton (1864-1940) discusses his lifelong passion for books. The contents are partly based on articles he published in the Atlantic Monthly and other periodicals.
