Gold and Your Money. First edition of this study of gold in the world economy, written four years after the Great Depression destroyed the gold standard as a monetary system. The author, Williard E. Atkins (1889-1971), professor of economics at New York University, coincidentally died in the same year that Richard Nixon cancelled the direct convertibility of the dollar to gold.
