First edition, 8vo; pp. 23, 1 ; removed from binding, trimmed along the top margin, just touching two page numbers; sewing broken and leaves becoming detached; enclosed in a protective cloth folder. Taking his subject from Matthew 8:25 Lord, save us; we perish , Emerson attempts to show that persons in peril of waters should feel their dependence upon Christ because they must perish, unless he is pleased to save them.
