The title page gives Gleig’s regiment as 92nd Highlanders, the 1865 records him as Major, 14th Foot on half-pay. Gleig appears to have conducted most of his “Campaign” through the letters column of the Morning Herald , he did, after all, sign his last letter as “An Officer - Who never saw a Shot fired.” An interesting and rather attractive little item.
