Mélanges de philosophie et d'économie politique. First edition of this scarce collection of political essays, published just before the outbreak of the French Revolution. The folding table in Volume I analyses the commercial yields of a forest of 10,000 trees. Guillaume Grivel (1735-1810), a prolific essayist, Encyclopédiste, and physiocrat, corresponded with Benjamin Franklin and, in 1790, was nominated by him to the American Philosophical Society.
