First edition, first impression, of these 16 essays and lectures, originally published in various books and periodical over the 1930s.Although Dennis Robertson (1890-1963) had begun as a close collaborator with Keynes, he developed a dynamic theory of savings and interest which led him to criticise Keynes's theories in the General Theory (1936). The first and longest essay in this collection develops a further critique of Keynes's theories of interest.Provenance: William Piercy (1886-1966), with his bookplate on the front pastedown. Piercy, an economist, civil servant, and businessman, served as chairman of the Industrial & Commercial Finance Corporation from 1945 to 1964.
