This limited edition book is number 160 of 500 copies illustrated and signed by the Edmund Dulac, a prolific French children's artist at the start of the Twentieth Century. Limited English edition, number 160 of 500 deluxe copies, signed by the artist; 4to (29 x 24 cm); tipped-in colour frontispiece and 13 plates by Edmund Dulac, artist signature to limitation page, light spotting to some page extremities and margins, not affecting text, light browning to front and rear endpapers, a couple of fore edges slightly badly opened, but not of any consequence, otherwise good condition; publisher's half-vellum over taupe paper covered boards, spine lettered in gilt, some spotting, mainly to rear corner, very light surface soiling, small mark to front board, some toning and light offsetting to covers, very lightly rubbed at extremities, housed in a custom orange solander box, orange morocco spine in 6 compartments, lettered in gilt, with centaur archer in gilt to upper cover, box lightly rubbed to extremities, small signs of wear to morocco spine, two small marks to rear cloth board, otherwise very good condition; [x], 244pp, [1]pp.
