Some Remarks on the Conduct of the Parliament of England, As far as it relates to the Woollen Manufacture: First edition, published in response to the rejection by the Lords of a ministry-backed bill to aid the wool industry; strong feelings were repeatedly expressed in the 1720s and 1730s that the wool industry was in crisis, and government action needed. The author, later a government minister, accuses the Lords of malevolent motives.
