Machlup analyzes stock market bubbles from an Austrian School perspective, in particular the relationship between expanding credit, monetary policy, and rising stock prices. The work was issued in both cloth and wrappers, without priority. It appeared in a revised English version in 1940, as The Stock Market, Credit and Capital Formation.
