McCulloch was one of Ricardo's most eminent disciples and his writings did much to make the doctrines of Ricardo known to a broad public.The Appendix includes an article on Indian Revenue systems. With the bookplate and ownership signature to the front pastedown of Josiah Wedgwood, 1st Baron Wedgwood (1872-1943), a descendent of the famous eponymous potter, and Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster under Ramsay Macdonald's first government from January to November 1924. Wedgwood took a key interest in economic matters, and was a prominent single-tax activist, as preached by Henry George.
