Prices of Corn in Oxford in the Beginning of the Fourteenth Century: First edition of this study of Oxford corn prices. The economist William Forster Lloyd (1794-1852), then a lecturer at Christ Church, used documents in the University's collection and the account books of various colleges to chart the change in prices. His later writings on population proved a significant influence on economic thought.Provenance: The Lawes Agricultural Library, with their gilt stamp to front cover and their pencilled shelf marks to pastedown and title page. The library was assembled in the early 20th century by Sir John Russell, director of the Rothamsted agricultural research institution in Hertfordshire, and ranked as one of the finest English collections of agricultural material.
