Autograph manuscript: Wissel Bloemen; Arbitragie Bloemen. An extensive fair hand manuscript written by the Dutch school teacher and mathematician Jacobus Acquoy (1803-1873), apparently a copy of an unrecorded work by his grandfather and namesake Jacobus Acquoy (1732-1818). The manuscript is a guide to merchants for the differing value of flowers across the Netherlands, with extensive examples in the various cities. The second part opens with a divisional title page dated 1799, presumably the date of the elder Acquoy's composition of the guide, but the manuscript itself would have been written a few decades later. Another manuscript by the younger Acquoy is known, also dealing with exchange: a copy in commerce of Nicolaas Anslijn's "Rekenboek voor Meisjes", which dealt with teaching the principles of exchange to schoolgirls.
