Discours oeconomique, An attractively bound 18th-century facsimile edition of Choyselat's famous treatise on rural economics which recommends poultry farming as the most dependable means of assuring profit. Extremely popular, it was printed with considerable frequency until 1800. A list of referenced authors at the end of the text includes Plato, Aristotle, Aesop, Erasmus, Belon, and Budé. The title page is taken from one of two later editions printed in Rouen in 1612; the first known edition was published by Nicolas Chesneau in Paris in 1569, and it was first translated into English in 1577.
